Karachi is the 7th largest[19] urban agglomeration in the world,
and the second largest in the Muslim world.[20] It is also world's
7th least expensive city to live based on cost of living.[21] It is
Pakistan's centre of banking, industry, economic activity and trade
and is home to Pakistan's largest corporations, including those involved
in textiles, shipping, automotive industry, entertainment, the arts, fashion,
advertising, publishing, software development and medical research.
The city is a hub of higher education in South Asia and the Muslim world.
Mazar-e-Quaid, also known as the Jinnah Mausoleum or the National Mausoleum,
is the final resting place of Quaid-e-Azam (Great Leader) Muhammad Ali Jinnah,
the founder of Pakistan, as well as his sister, Mader-e Millat
(Mother of the Nation) Fatima Jinnah, and Liaquat Ali Khan, the first Prime
Minister of Pakistan. Located in the Jamshed Quarters neighborhood of Karachi,
the mausoleum , completed in the 1960s,
is an iconic symbol of Karachi throughout the world. It is one of the most
popular tourist destinations among foreign visitors to Karachi.
The Teen Talwar (Three Swords) monument is located in Clifton, Karachi,
Sindh, Pakistan. The three marble swords are inscribed with Quaid-e-Azam
Mohammad Ali Jinnah's creeds Unity, Faith and Discipline. It was commissioned
by Pakistan's former President and Prime Minister, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
